Academic Profile
Fabiola Arellano studied art education, art history, and political science at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, where she received her MA in 2011. Her thesis was about the first visual manifestation of the internal armed conflict in Peru: the photo exhibition Yuyanapaq-Para Recordar. Since then, she has been researching themes related to the culture of remembrance and its aesthetic forms of expression. Her dissertation project deals with the politics of memory concerning the recent history of South America and their (re)presentation in museums. She holds a scholarship from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
